Student Clubs

Armstrong School for the Arts offers many extracurricular clubs for students to become a part of. 

 

 

Clubs at Armstrong

National Elementary Honor Society

In order for students be eligible for the National Elementary Honor Society, the following requirements must be met:

1. Students must be in 4th or 5th grade

2. Students must have been enrolled at Armstrong for the entire semester

3. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.6

4. Students will write a one page essay (double space 12pt font or one page hand written, no line spacing)

All completed applications will be reviewed by the National Elementary Honor Society Committee.


Drama Club

The drama club is sponsored by Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Szukelewicz and is open to students in grades fourth and fifth. Students in the drama club perform in the annual spring musical.
 
K-Kids

K-Kids is a "student-led" community-service organization for elementary students grades 1 through 5, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body. It is sponsored by Old Point Comfort Kiwanis Club, composed of leading business and professional people of the community.

 

Chorus

Chorus is offered to all fifth grade students at Armstrong. Chorus students perform in at least two concerts a year and are given opportunities to perform in the spring musical; honors chorus; and solo performances throughout the year. Chorus is sponsored by Mrs. Thompson.

 

F.R.G

FRG is a family readinesss group for active duty, retired, and reservist children.  It helps foster a sense of belonging to a military community and a forum in which the children can discuss and learn about the importance of service to our country.  F.R.G is sponsered by Mrs. McKinney.

Lego Club

Lego club is open to all students.  There is a Lego Club for students in grades K-2 and one for students in grades 3-5.  Students incorporate elements of design to create lego challenges.  Lego Club is sponsored by Mrs. McKinney and Ms. Bedard.
